Often in the Midwest we’ll hear journalists reporting back to the coasts about what life is like in the Midwest as if it is a foreign place. So we made a real Midwest Foreign Correspondent, embedded there for nearly a lifetime to tell people of this strange, normal place.

We put on our Daily Show hat for this one. TV reports in a foreign country makes for fertile ground to play in, so we had our template. This one was most interesting in the edit. It was ultimately less about what people had to say in response to these inane questions, and more about the brash awkwardness of the questions. This one works because of the truth of the matter—people outside of the Midwest wondering what this vast nothingness of a land mass is like.
