7-Eleven, and their agency, T3, reached out wanting to be the first brand to create a follow up to Instagram Husband. We worked with them on a concept that put their food first—not food that just looks good, but food, you know, for eating. The video was a great success, garnering more than one million views and used an element of Instagram Husband to put the spotlight on their food.

quick analysis

This worked as a follow up to Instagram Husband because we took just one element of the original video—taking pictures of food—and explored it further, heightening as we went. We wanted to not just recreate the original video, it needed to be different, but from the same world. It was very intentional to not put 7-Eleven in at the front and signify too strongly that this is a commercial, but the let the sketch stand on it’s own, then include 7-Eleven toward the end.
